RESENSI FILM National Treasure 2 : Book of Secrets (2007)

Film ini mencoba untuk mengulangi kesuksesan film National Treasure sebelumnya. Bagi yang belum menonton film yang pertama, film ini berkutat seputar pemburu harta karun. Namun berbeda dengan serial Indiana Jones, yang diburu adalah harta karun “nasional”, milik negara maksudnya. Dan teka-teki yang dipecahkan berputar di rahasia yang secara turun-temurun disembunyikan oleh para Founding Fathers negara Amerika Serikat. Jika anda seorang peminat sejarah Amerika dan penganut teori konspirasi, film ini adalah untuk anda.

Film ini memang tidak menawarkan banyak hal yang baru. Dalam beberapa hal, lebih jelek dari film pertamanya. Jika kita sudah terbiasa dengan gaya penceritaan film yang pertama, film ini seperti pengulangan saja.

Kualitas akting dan penyutradaan biasa-biasa saja, meskipun film ini dibintangi oleh bintang2 kawakan seperti Jon Voigt, Nicholas Cage, dan Hellen Mirren. Skripnya memang penuh teka-teki, tapi sebuah film tentunya tidak cukup dilihat dari teka-tekinya saja. Jika ingin menekankan pada teka-teki, lebih baik buat buku teka-teki saja.
